Katharine M. Nohr, Esq.


Katharine M. Nohr, the author of Managing Risk in Sport and Recreation: The Essential Guide for Loss Prevention, is a principal for Nohr Sports Risk Management, LLC, providing career longevity and reputation risk management training to professional athletes.


BACKGROUND

Ms. Nohr is a licensed attorney and has been admitted to the Hawaii State Bar since 1988. She is also admitted to practice in all State and Federal Courts of Hawaii and the United States Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit. Ms. Nohr received her law degree from the University of Utah and has a political science degree from the University of Washington.


LEGAL AND MEDIATION EXPERIENCE

Since 1988, Ms. Nohr has represented insurance carriers and their insureds in negligence, sports, premises liability and insurance related matters in Hawaii State and Federal Courts and the Insurance Division of the Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs. After serving as a name partner in a prominent insurance defense litigation firm for 19 years, she began her own law practice, the Law Offices of Katharine M. Nohr, in 2007.
From 2002 to 2005, Ms. Nohr served as a District Court Judge of the Honolulu District Court, per diem. She was appointed to be a member of the District Court Rules Committee in1998. Ms. Nohr has served as an arbitrator for Hawaii’s Court Annexed Arbitration Program since 1993 and as a Chairperson and member for Arbitration Panels for USA Triathlon. She has also served as an Appellate Mediator for the Hawaii State Judiciary from 2005-2006.
